Fueled by Curiosity. Human-Centered & Conscientious. Data-Driven Design.
Hi, I’m Nichole Chaney, a product designer who blends creativity, research, and strategy to solve complex problems. With a background in communication design and a Master’s in Design from the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program, I’ve built a career on using design not just to make things beautiful, but to make them meaningful.
At Kroger, I’ve led product design across multiple low-maturity teams, embedding UX practices where none existed before. My work has delivered more than $117M in measurable value through eCommerce initiatives, inventory tools, and service design blueprints—while also mentoring designers and shaping organizational strategy.
My approach is rooted in human-centered design and co-participation. I believe the people most affected by a problem should be part of shaping its solution. By pairing qualitative and quantitative research with design thinking, I create solutions that are both empathetic and data-driven.
Beyond corporate spaces, I’ve collaborated with medical, academic, and enterprise teams to design digital tools, healthcare solutions, and educational experiences. No matter the project, I aim to balance creativity with impact, ensuring that design serves both people and business.
